Property Purchase Tax
Payable to the provincial government at the time the transfer of title is filed for registation in the Land Title Office.
- 1% on the first $200,000, and 2% on the remainder
- the property is under $275,000
- purchaser has been a Canadian citizen or lawful permanent resident for at least one year
- financing at least 70% of the purchase price
- must reside in home as principal residence for at least one year
